Lefebvre KITCHEN

In this custom kitchen designed by Macucina, clean lines, natural tones, and the warmth of wood come together to create a space that is both contemporary and inviting. Designed to make everyday life easier while maintaining a simple, timeless aesthetic, the layout strikes the perfect balance between functionality, storage, and natural light.

The colour palette plays a major role in the project’s ambiance. The neutral-toned kitchen cabinets create a soft, bright foundation, enhanced by wooden elements that add warmth to the overall design. Particularly prominent on the island, the range hood and the open niches, the wood serves as a unifying element and provides just enough contrast to give the kitchen character without overwhelming the colour palette.

In the centre of the room, the large, custom-built kitchen island naturally defines the layout. Its generous countertop offers all the space needed for meal preparation, while creating a welcoming gathering spot thanks to the seating arranged along its length. The numerous built-in storage solutions also maximize space on both sides of the island and help keep the area uncluttered.

The design places a strong emphasis on kitchen storage. Full-height cabinets make efficient use of the available space, while wide drawers provide easy access to everyday essentials. In certain areas, the closed cabinets give way to open wooden niches. These visually lighten the composition and allow for the display of a few select items while echoing the room’s other wooden accents.

The range hood is one of the kitchen’s main focal points. Its wooden trim creates a warm presence above the cooking area and establishes a direct connection with the island. Surrounding it, the clean-lined cabinet fronts and discreet black handles maintain a sleek, contemporary aesthetic.

Natural light also plays a key role in creating the ambiance. Positioned directly in front of the window, the sink area enjoys a view of the outdoors and a generous supply of light throughout the day. This light reflects off the light-coloured surfaces and helps highlight the wood’s nuances, as well as the softness of the finishes.

The kitchen lighting discreetly complements this natural light. Under-cabinet lighting illuminates the work surfaces, while linear light fixtures echo the kitchen’s architectural language. This combination provides functional lighting while maintaining the visual simplicity sought throughout the project.

Choosing a light-coloured countertop and a backsplash in a similar shade also contribute to this sense of continuity. Rather than creating multiple contrasts, the large surfaces blend into one another, allowing the space, the wood, and the black accents to define the kitchen’s character.

Each area thus naturally finds its purpose: cooking, preparing, storing, entertaining, or simply gathering around the island. This layout allows for a smooth flow of movement and makes the kitchen a space that’s as pleasant to use as it is to look at.

The Lefebvre project illustrates Macucina’s approach to custom kitchen design: creating a layout tailored to the space and the habits of its occupants, where every choice contributes to a cohesive, functional, and timeless whole.
